Healthy Meals That Taste Good

Health, according to the World Health Organization, “is a state of full physical, emotional and social well being and not simply the absence of illness and infirmity.” A wide variety of definitions has also been used over the years. The dictionary definition is: “healthful” is to be well balanced, in good shape and having the capacity to do things efficiently and effectively. Another version states that it is “the quality of being able to achieve and maintain a state of well being.” Still another says it is “the possession of a healthy and well balanced life in which health, wealth, and emotional well being are balanced and in harmony.”

Nutrition is the science of eating foods that are highly nutritious and nutritionally balanced. Nutritious foods provide energy, activate the immune system, strengthen the bones and muscles, regulate blood pressure and cholesterol levels, and build and repair cell tissues. Eating healthy foods is not something that we can do once in a while and expect to remain healthy. It takes work on our part by consuming foods that are consistently healthy and nutritious, as well as making sure that we get the right amount of sleep, exercise and relaxation. Below, I’ll outline some extremely healthy foods that are both delicious and incredibly healthy.

Lemons are loaded with Vitamin C, a very important nutrient. Because of this, lemon juice can be considered a powerful antioxidant that helps to rid the body of dangerous free radicals. Because of this, limes are loaded with vitamin C and other antioxidants. If you aren’t eating enough oranges, take a half or one-third slice of lemon and soak it in water for about an hour to overnight, then drink it.

Peanut Butter is incredibly nutritious and filled with nutrients, especially vitamin C. Plus, it is loaded with calories! Because of the fiber content, peanut butter is excellent at absorbing food, storing it, and providing energy during the night. One serving of peanut butter contains more than twice the amount of calories that you would typically consume by eating an entire meal of pasta, vegetables and meat. And, since peanut butter is made by hydrogenated oils, you end up consuming considerably fewer calories than you would by eating any other nut butter. This is excellent news for dieters and those who want to lose weight!

Chickens are also incredibly nutritious and full of important nutrients. They contain almost three times the number of calories that cows produce, which makes them a very good choice for vegetarians. The grains in grass-fed cows’ diet provide B vitamins and other important nutrients. These include folic acid, iron, and calcium. Also, chickens are given lots of calcium and protein, which make them great for growing children.

Nuts are also very filling and extremely nutritious. Almonds are loaded with omega-3 fatty acids that improve the heart and brain. They are also loaded with vitamin E, which is an antioxidant that protects against cancer and other diseases. A handful of almonds is often enough to provide someone with all of the nutrients they need every day. Other nuts are even higher in nutrients; walnuts, pecans, cashews, hazelnuts, and almonds are all loaded with antioxidants and other beneficial vitamins and minerals that help keep people healthy.
